Finding Email Headers

Email headers allow you to see information about the sender. For example, this includes, their email client and IP address.

To view the email headers in webmail:
  • Horde - Click the "View Source" located at the top right of the email.
  • RoundCube - Click on the "Show Source" button, located right above the email message itself.
  • SquirrelMail - Click on the "View Full Header" located in the "Options" section above the email"s message body.

To view the email headers in an email client:
  • Thunderbird - Click on "View" -> "Message Source"
  • Mail - Click on "View" -> "Options" -> "Internet Headers"
  • Outlook 2007 - Click on "Options" -> "Internet Headers"
  • Outlook 2010 - Click "File" -> "Properties" -> "Internet Headers"
  • Outlook 2013 - Click "File" -> "Properties" -> "Internet Headers"
